A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Jimmie began performing with local musicians and recording artists on Bourbon Street in the 1960′s.
Following classical studies at the Houston Conservatory of Music he toured from California to Florida with “Show Bands” and appeared in concert at The Hollywood Palladium with the rock band ‘Bluesberry Jam’.
After ‘held over’ engagements at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas in the 1970′s and a highly successful appearance as an actor in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” he traveled the southeast states with country and rock bands.
In 1983 he and his wife Robin, and their two children built a home in Roanoke, Virginia, and Jimmie started a career in the hotel and resort industry.
In 1988 Jimmie recorded his first solo CD entitled ‘Time’ featuring acoustic piano and synths.
He was the featured artist at The Hotel Roanoke from 1995 to 2010. His second CD featured Jimmie’s Trio play jazz standards and one original which was “Robin” featuring Hoppie Vaughan on vocals and Dave Morgan on vibes.
His third CD , “Gumbo From The Mountains” was recorded at Flat Five Recording Studio in Salem Virginia, Word of Mouth Studio in New Orleans and Jimmie’s home studio.Eleven original compositions are featured along with a variety of very creative musicians from Virginia and New Orleans.
“My Life”, Jimmie’s fourth CD, is currently in production and will be out ASAP. This an is all original music CD told as an autobiography with solo piano and vocals.
