Holiday? There’s no holidays in art!

July 4, 2011

Now I’m not against holidays, I’m not un-american, I’m certainly not negative and I KNOW I’m in a minority. Holidays were never a big deal for me. As a kid it seemed like a waste of time to not being able to do what I wanted to do, which was not go to some party, visit some cousins or get dressed up for a special occasion. I wanted to play, create, invent, improvise and do something that everybody else was NOT doing. Art never takes a holiday, just like death. I respect all the millions of hard working men and women who work hard at a job they don’t like and deserve holidays to relax, am most of all am grateful to the men and women in uniform, be it here or overseas. Being an artist is so enjoyable I don’t want to take a day off to celebrate some day that has nothing to do with what I’m into. I’m not a workaholic and I’m not egotistic, just anti-holiday.
